Privacy Policy

Effective November 4, 2026

SeanD.info is the personal website of Sean Doherty, based in California. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and to describe the rights California residents have under state law.

Information collected

Information you choose to send. If you use the contact form, the site collects the name, email address and message you enter. Nothing is collected from the form unless you press Send.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the server that hosts this site keeps standard technical logs of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies. The site does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Submitting the contact form may set a single session cookie, which is needed for the form to work and expires when you close your browser.

Third-party services. The site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google when a page loads. Google's handling of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

How information is used

Contact form submissions are delivered by email to Sean Doherty and are used only to read and reply to your message. Your details are not added to any mailing list, and you will not receive marketing email as a result of contacting this site.

Sharing, selling and disclosure

Your personal information is not sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own marketing or for cross-context behavioral advertising. It may be handled by the website host and email provider solely so the site and contact form can work, or disclosed if required by law.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine the Light" law) lets California residents ask which personal information a business has shared with third parties for their direct marketing. This site does not share personal information for that purpose.

How long information is kept

Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable personal record-keeping, after which they are deleted. Server logs are kept according to the hosting provider's standard retention schedule.

Your choices and California privacy rights

Whether or not a particular law requires it, you may ask at any time to:

To make a request, use the contact form. You will not be treated differently for making a request.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

CalOPPA requires websites to say how they respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Because this site does not track visitors across websites or over time, and does not allow third parties to do so for advertising, it behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent information through the contact form, please get in touch and it will be deleted.

Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect information sent through this site. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
